Seek! Find! Explore! Discover the richness of our Valley. How many wonders can YOU find? Join us during the month of May for a celebration of community and biodiversity! Go on walks in the woods to identify the many species of flora and fauna in our region! Go as a group, a family, on your own, or join one of our scheduled walks with a skilled and knowledgeable leader, all while raising money for the Hitchcock Center for the Environment's mission to educate and to inspire action for a healthy planet. Learn how diversity makes our ecosystem and communities stronger!
We will provide sample lists for different levels of knowledge/experience so if you have no idea where to begin, you can start there! Or, if you are a knowledgeable naturalist, you can set your own species identification goals for the month! Another great tool that you can use to help is iNaturalist, which is an app that helps identify and track the species you find during your exploration. Here is the link to the Flora and Faunathon event on iNaturalist.
